About
At Fitness Fight Factory we offer a variety of classes. Below you will find a description of the classes and some information about what to expect
Boxing , Kickboxing and MMA Group Classes
These classes consist of a ten to twelve minute warm up followed by a stretch period led by the instructor. After stretching each student will put on their gloves and the bag portion of the class begins. During this time instructors will demonstrate punch combinations for the students to work on. While they are working on the combinations, the instructor will circulate the class and help members out with technique as well as try to keep them motivated as their body starts to fatigue. The bag portion of the class can last from twenty eight to thirty five minutes. To finish the class off, the instructor will lead members through a variety of exercises that may work on chest, back, shoulders, and abs.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
BJJ is a martial art, combat sport, and a self defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It teaches self defense against an opponent, with strength, and assailant by using leverage and proper technique—most notably by applying joint-locks and choke-holds to defeat the other person. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self defense. Sparring (commonly referred to as ‘rolling’) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through the grades/belts.
Our classes usually start off with a few rounds of rolling. Next the instructor will go over the technique or techniques of the day. After some live drilling, students will do some more rolling to finish the class.
At Fitness Fight Factory we teach both Gi and No-Gi BJJ. Gi classes are one and a half hour long whil no gi classes are one hour.
Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed martial arts has quickly become one of the fastest growing sports around the world. Students who have studied one discipline only are now starting to cross over and learn new disciplines as well. Our mixed martial arts program has quickly become recognized as one of the best in the metroplex. We have produced some of the best up and coming talent as well a some of the most well known fighters in Dallas/Fort Worth. Our program consist of Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing and Kickboxing. Again in these classes students will drill techniques under the supervision of our instructor. Drills and sparring in this class may consist of using one or more disciplines at a time. Mixed martial arts is a new and fun way to get in shape and learn some discpline and self-defense.
